What’s Going on in Germaine, Oregon?
by Tsalagi Red and Patty Jo Mac
Call us conspiracy nuts, if you like, but we have noticed some strange things happening in Germaine over the last couple of years. We know that many of you Germainers are concerned about the changes going on in our community and surrounding Wilbur County. We have accepted Howard Applegate’s offer to host a new blog on The Germaine Truth dedicated to your theories and speculations.
Here are just a few of the mysteries:
•
“The Unfortunate Incident” as it has been dubbed by the media. What happened in Room 17 of the Restin’ Easy on the night of September 26, 2002? We now know that the Arlingtons are in federal witness protection. But protection from who? And why? What did the Arlingtons witness on that night?
• The mystery of Charles Sevigny LaFontaine. Who killed the itinerant jazz musician fifty years ago, and why has it stirred up such feeling in our town? Are the guilty still out there?
•
What is the mysterious facility out in the desert? Is it related to Malsanto Corporation? And who are the mysterious men in fatigues who show up at anti-Malsanto demonstrations? Why did Malsanto choose to locate here in a county whose farmers are dedicated to organic agriculture?
• Of course, there are a lot more issues you might be concerned with, such as drug trafficking, the girls at the Double T ranch, the new age retreat up at Lake Germaine, the survivalist community up in the hills, and even the Madman of the Ochochos. Please feel free to expound on any of these, or bring up your own issues. That’s what we’re all about.
